Better fundraising starts here…

As we move through this course, I want you to keep something in mind—the “power of threes.”

Whether it’s a quick 30-second pitch or a full 30-minute presentation, this framework will help you create impactful and memorable talks. It’s a framework I use in all of my presentations, and there’s a reason for that. Studies show that people find it easier to remember information when it's presented in groups of three. Whether you’re delivering a quick pitch or a longer presentation, structuring your message around three key points makes it more digestible and impactful.

Think about it: we see this everywhere. The rule of three shows up in storytelling, marketing, and even in everyday conversation. It’s no accident that so many slogans, speeches, and stories are built this way. When you give your audience three main ideas, it feels complete, balanced, and easy to follow.

For example, in public speaking, instead of overwhelming your audience with too much information, break it down into three simple takeaways. This technique keeps people focused and helps your message stick long after you’ve finished speaking. By using the power of threes, you’ll ensure your audience not only listens but remembers what you said.
