As a former TV news reporter turned Integrated Communications specialist, I focus my approach on the customer experience. It's all about understanding who we're talking with, what they care about, and how we can help them save time, money, or both!

My passion for small to mid-sized businesses started when I collaborated with the Small Business Administration. I was a Women's Business Center Director, helping people start or grow their businesses.

Since then, I've immersed myself in a variety of tech sectors. It doesn't matter how complicated the story or data is -- I love breaking it down into digestible pieces that make people give a damn.

Experience

Regarding relevant experience, I've collaborated with the Small Business Administration through its Women's Business Center branch. We collaborated on the local and regional needs of people looking to start, grow, or sell their businesses. Additionally, I worked with San Jose's workforce development ecosystem (Chamber of Commerce, City of San Jose, CDFIs, and others) to create capacity-building events for business owners.

Intapp provides cloud software solutions that address the global professional and financial services industry's unique operating challenges and regulatory requirements. They wanted to increase social followers and engagement across LinkedIn and Twitter. We created a relevant content mix for its audience and used external and internal tools such as tagging and internal pushes to increase awareness. With the diverse content mix of owned, earned, and a cadence of multimedia assets, we doubled post engagement and grew followers across both platforms. My team collaborated with my PR counterparts to amplify content across social channels using appropriate tags and discovery tools.

Marqeta is a modern card-issuing platform looking for a PR boost after securing funding and signing up clients. The solution was a media tour and meet and greet in New York and commissioned fintech consumer research to give media new information and data. Through the PR solutions, it tripled in coverage — Reuters, Forbes, Business Insider, Bankrate, and Bank Innovation. For events, Marqeta wanted buzz during Money 20/20 and built a social media plan that included pre-, at-show, and post-show awareness. We amplified earned media placements from Reuters, NYT, WSJ, and Cheddar during the show. Additionally, we upcycled content during the show for quotes, podcasts, and other amplification. We saw success in our metrics: half a million impressions, a 175% increase in new web users, and a landing page.
