Press Releases & Media Hits
In my work with media and press releases, I use a relationship-centric approach that prioritizes long-term connections with journalists and reporters.
My strategy, shaped by my experience as a former TV news reporter and now as a strategic communications leader, is underpinned by a commitment to presenting my clients in the most favorable light while maintaining an authentic and thoughtful engagement with the media.
With a background spanning the nonprofit sector, small business, and B2B tech sectors, I monitor the news landscape, including social media and trade publications, to capitalize on relevant newsjacking moments and to ensure alignment with current trends and conversations.
The result is a fusion of strategic positioning, timely responsiveness, and human connection to maximize positive exposure and influence.

Nonprofit
When crafting press releases and pitches for All Stars Helping Kids, I focused on people mapping and pinpointing those who would resonate with the organization's mission and impact. I painted the picture of the pressing problems and challenges faced by the Bay Area, positioning the nonprofit as a committed and effective solution provider.
By weaving a compelling and relatable narrative, I could articulate the methods activated by the nonprofit to address these issues. The targeted approach not only engaged potential supporters but also showcased the vital role and contributions of All Stars Helping Kids in an authentic and inspiring way.

Healthcare
In collaboration with SoCal Food Allergy and TPIRC, I executed a strategic media pitching and release campaign culminating in a remarkable win: a 7-minute segment on KTLA. This coverage, which would have cost around $200,000 in advertising expenses, provided substantial exposure and translated into tangible success for the center.
Following the broadcast, we observed a significant spike in the waitlist for the center, showing the power of targeted media engagement. This achievement shows my commitment to leveraging media relationships and crafting compelling narratives to drive impactful results and advance organizational goals.

Real Estate
When Highland Premiere wanted to make a splash in the real estate sector, I contacted reporters who covered real estate and kept an eye out for related requests on HARO.
It wasn't long before I struck up a great relationship with a reporter who began asking me for comments regularly. The highlight was getting featured in a nationally recognized magazine — Real Simple. That wasn't just a big win for us; it showed how the right strategy and a focus on building relationships can pay off.

Unleashing Hope
When it came to sharing the inspiring story of a dog comforting child trafficking victims in Orange County, I knew the key was in the details. I created the video for broadcast, lined up the print and TV soundbites, and ensured everything was ready for producers.
Producers later told me how much they appreciated the organization and responsiveness – it made their jobs easier. The way I see it, that kind of collaboration doesn't just help get the story out there; it helps paint the accurate picture of a remarkable connection making a real difference in our community.
